Barbed fittings are used throughout the irrigation system.   At Hortafix, we carry a big selection of fittings and accessories. You can find fittings and tubing here that’s suitable for everything in the garden.
Fitting sizes are shwon based on the internal diameter of the pipe - 13mm fittings are for piep with an internal size of 13mm.  Typically external diameters are 2 to 3mm larger.  Threaded fittings all have sizes measured on the BSP range - size charts are shown to help sizing.
The barbed fittings are for use with LDPE pipe, soft enough the give when barbed are inserted.  Pipe walls can be pierced and micro fittings inserted.
